Lessons that teach you as much as your dog
Our obedience lessons are private, one hour each, and you are there for all of it. Your trainer works the dog, then hands the leash to you, so by the end of the package you know how to get the same result on your own. Lessons are by appointment, and we often hold them somewhere your dog has never been, on purpose: a dog that listens in an unfamiliar place with real distractions listens everywhere. If you want off-leash reliability built fast, look at board and train instead. Every price is on our plans and pricing page.
What the lessons cover
Come
A recall your dog answers the first time, taught from the very first lesson.
Sit, down and place
Each with duration, so your dog holds the position until you release it.
Loose-leash heel
Walks where your dog stays beside you instead of dragging you down the sidewalk.
“Off”
For the minor unwanted stuff: jumping, counter surfing, chewing, digging and excessive barking.
You, as the handler
Every lesson ends with you handling your dog, so it keeps working after we are gone.

How many lessons does basic obedience take?
Four. The Basic Obedience package is four one-hour private lessons covering come, sit, down, place, loose-leash heel and off.
Where are the lessons held?
Lessons are by appointment, and we set the location with you when you book. We generally prefer not to train inside your house, because a dog that learns to listen somewhere unfamiliar, with real distractions, will listen anywhere.
How old does my dog need to be?
Our e-collar lessons start at five and a half months. Call us and we will tell you what fits your dog.
What comes after basic obedience?
The Basic & Advanced Obedience package covers the basic four lessons plus four lessons of advanced commands: extended distance work, heel, watch, through, front, stand and more.
