Why professional training is essential for Huntington dog owners
Behavior modification
Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.
Safety & control
A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.
Stronger bond
Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.
Skills that transfer
We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.
Family harmony
A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.
Our dog training programs for Huntington dogs
Every program is by appointment, run by Brooke and her Fort Wayne team. Here is how they break down.

- Advanced commands in the eight-lesson package
Board & train
Your dog boards with a pro trainer and trains every day, then you get a one-on-one handoff session before they come home.
- One and two-week programs
- Off-leash recall around real distractions
- Daily updates while your dog is with us
Reactive & aggressive dogs
A two-week board and train built for dogs that react to other dogs, animals or people.
- Obedience as the foundation
- Desensitization to the dog's triggers
- A 2 to 3 hour handoff session at pickup

Built for how Huntington dogs actually live
Huntington, the Lime City, is the Huntington County seat and its largest city. It is home to Huntington University, and the Little River joins the Wabash at the Forks of the Wabash on the edge of town. With the Erie Rail Trail, Memorial Park, Yeoman Park and the Sunken Gardens, there is no shortage of places to walk a dog.
What makes those walks hard is rarely the dog's energy. It is a dog that has never been shown what to do when a bike goes by or another dog comes up the trail. Loose-leash heel and a reliable come are what we work on first, and we practice them around distractions on purpose, because a dog that only listens in the kitchen will not listen on the trail.
Another common complaint is the front door: a dog that rushes it when the bell rings and jumps on whoever comes in. Off, sit and place help with most of that. Our obedience lessons teach you those commands alongside your dog, and with a board and train, your dog gets daily practice with a trainer before a one-on-one handoff.

Brooke Forsyth-Zeller grew up in the Fort Wayne area and graduated from Northrop High School. Before training full time she spent four years fostering for rescues and placed more than 60 dogs in new homes.
She joined Off Leash K9 Training of Fort Wayne as a trainer, then took over the location. Today she and her team train dogs from across Allen County and Northeast Indiana, and she or one of her trainers is the person you will actually meet.

Walks on the Erie Rail Trail are a battle. Where do we start?

My dog rushes the door and jumps on guests. Which program helps?
Either one. Door manners come from place, sit and off, which are all in Basic Obedience. Lessons teach you to do it yourself. A 2 Week Board & Train gives your dog daily practice with a trainer first, then a 2-hour handoff session that teaches you.
