Why professional training is essential for Huntertown dog owners
Behavior modification
Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.
Safety & control
A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.
Stronger bond
Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.
Skills that transfer
We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.
Family harmony
A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

Built for how Huntertown dogs actually live
Huntertown has grown fast. The 2020 census counted 9,141 people, close to double the 2010 figure, and much of that growth is new subdivisions, and nearly half of households have kids at home. That means a lot of new dogs, a lot of kids at the front door, and a lot of neighbors walking past the yard.
It is also a town built for walking a dog. The Pufferbelly Trail runs through it, and Huntertown Park and the nature preserves nearby are all within a short drive. A dog that pulls on the leash or lunges at every bike makes those walks a chore. Loose-leash heel, a reliable come and calm greetings are the core of every program we teach.
If you want a dog that can walk the trail off leash and come back the first time you call, that level of reliability is built in a board and train, where your dog works with a trainer every day. The lessons are the right fit if you want to learn alongside your dog, one session at a time.
Where your dog will shine
- The Pufferbelly Trail
- Huntertown Park
- The nature preserves nearby
- Your own street and front door
- Trips south into Fort Wayne
Brooke Forsyth-Zeller grew up in the Fort Wayne area and graduated from Northrop High School. Before training full time she spent four years fostering for rescues and placed more than 60 dogs in new homes.
She joined Off Leash K9 Training of Fort Wayne as a trainer, then took over the location. Today she and her team train dogs from across Allen County and Northeast Indiana, and she or one of her trainers is the person you will actually meet.

What our clients say
“Her training skills are amazing, and we saw a huge difference in Teo’s behavior and his responsiveness to us. When we picked Teo up, Leah took the time to teach us how to continue his training at home and patiently answered all of our questions.”
“In just one week he could heel, sit, stay, and learned good basic manners to be around others. She treated him like her own dog. She communicated daily with us and showed us what to do, when we picked him up, to continue his training at home.”
“Leah was absolutely amazing to work with! You can tell she truly has a passion for what she is doing and has the knowledge to back it up. Two weeks was a long time to go without my buddy, but I know he was in safe and caring hands!”
