Where Honey started

Honey is a Golden Retriever, and her owner had a name for her: the "wild child." Honey did not want to do anything she was asked.

Her owner was honest about where things stood: frustrated, and not sure where to even begin. Training with us was the last resort.

The training journey

Honey came to Off Leash K9 Training of Fort Wayne for our one week program with Brooke, our owner and head trainer. Her owner says Honey was already learning on the very first day.

Honey also had a good time. "Honey had so much fun with Brooke I honestly think she is missing her," her owner wrote. A dog who enjoys the work learns faster, and that week was about laying a foundation her owner could keep building on.

What actually changed

  • The basics are in place. Her owner says they got the basics down and a great foundation to build from.
  • Honey listens. The dog who would not do anything she was asked now has commands she follows.
  • Her owner has a plan. Before, it was hard to know where to begin. Now there is a foundation to build on.

★★★★★

“I couldn't have picked a better place for my Golden Retriever (Honey). This training was my last resort with her. She was a 'wild child'. She didn't want to do anything that I asked and I was so frustrated I didn't know where to even begin. I got Honey in here for the 1 week program and Brooke did AMAZING!!! The very first day Honey was already learning. […] I'm so glad I invested in Honey and didn't give up!”

What it changed for her owner

The frustration is gone. Her owner wrote about being excited to take Honey places now, without worrying about her behavior. And one line says the most: "I'm so glad I invested in Honey and didn't give up."

Why Honey's story matters to us

A lot of owners reach us at the point Honey's owner did: worn out and not sure the dog can change. One week does not finish a dog. It gives the owner a real starting point and a dog who is ready to learn. Honey's owner took it from there, and that is why this story matters to us at Off Leash K9 Training of Fort Wayne.

Before and after

Honey, a Golden Retriever her owner called a wild child, would not do anything she was asked. After one week with Brooke the basics are in place, and her owner takes her places without worrying about her behavior.

Honey's week with us was a board and train. If you would rather train alongside your dog, read about our obedience lessons. Every program and price is on our prices page.
